Cheryl R. Jacobs, AIA, LEED AP
Theres so many reasons I love what we do at NAC. Our projects serve the public good and provide inspiring spaces for learning and wellness what could be better than that! As an architect I seek solutions for solving Clients problems; this means designing spaces that work well and are beautiful to be in. I also strive to bring joy to the process. And, I thrive on collaboration with engineers and other consultants who bring different expertise and ideas to the table for a holistic resolution.
As a project manager and passionate architect, Cheryl leads teams in the design of learning environments and wellness facilities. She adeptly balances client-responsiveness with community needs and environmental sustainability, all the while keeping a tight eye on budget. She brings expertise in collaborating with and facilitating conversations among project stakeholders to quickly blend key components of a client’s vision with programmatic and functional needs. With a background in psychology, Cheryl is a champion for equity, diversity, and inclusion and is a leader in NAC’s Diversity Initiative. For years she has helped develop AIA Seattle’s active Women in Design Committee. Her commitment to lifelong learning means Cheryl is always seeking out new opportunities to grow, learn and give. Whether through participation in her local community council discussing land use and zoning, or through volunteering in her daughter’s classroom, she constantly pursues engagement with the built environment.
