To Principal:
Matt Rumbaugh, AIA, NCARB, LEED APMatt
Rumbaugh
, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has an extensive portfolio spanning a range of educational commissions, including Little Cedars Elementary School (Snohomish, Washington), winner of a 2009 Learning By Design Citation of Excellence, and Kirkland Junior High School modernization (Kirkland, Washington). Rumbaugh, who is a member of the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education, earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon.
  Steve Shiver, AIA, NCARB, LEED APSteve Shiver, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has served as project manager for multiple projects for Lake Stevens School District (Washington), including Cavelero Mid High School, which garnered four national awards, as well as for Western State Hospital (Lakewood, Washington), including the institution’s 10-year master plan. Shiver is National Co-Chair of the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education Pre K-12 Subcommittee. He holds Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design, degrees from the University of Idaho.   Tom StroeherTom
Stroeher
, chief financial officer, directs financial strategy, planning and forecasting for NAC|Architecture’s multiple offices to accommodate the firm’s future growth. He also provides support and input for corporate strategic direction and initiatives as well as oversees company accounting practices and financial reporting. Stroeher is a graduate of Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business-Accounting.
 
To Associate Principal:
  Dan Kurtz, AIA, LEED AP+Dan Kurtz, AIA, LEED AP+, has been a member of the firm’s healthcare group for nine years. He is presently working on the Cascade Medical Center addition and remodel in Leavenworth, Washington, and several projects for Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Kurtz, a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and Washington State Society for Healthcare Engineering, holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Idaho.   Melissa McFadgen, AIA, LEED APMelissa McFadgen, AIA, LEED AP, served as project manager for the Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) sn-w’ey’-mn Building, the first community college building in Washington state to attain LEED Gold certification. Her current projects include the SFCC Campus Classroom Building and two middle schools for Cheney Public Schools (Washington). An AIA Spokane board director and past president, McFadgen holds Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture degrees from Montana State University.  
 
To Senior Associate:
  Michael Cole, AIA, LEED APMichael Cole, AIA, LEED AP, is serving as project manager for the renovation of Eastern Washington University’s Patterson Hall and as co-project manager for the replacement of Eisenhower High School (Yakima, Washington). His past projects include Shadle Park High School (Spokane, Washington) and Prairie View Elementary School (Mead, Washington). A member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Michael has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.   Karee Loghry, AIA, LEED AP+Karee Loghry, AIA, LEED AP+, collaborates with architectural and interiors teams, lending her expertise in production, specifications and construction administration. As well as being a registered architect, she holds Construction Documents Technologist and Design Firm Administrator certifications. Loghry graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and the Art Institute of Seattle with an Associate of Applied Arts degree in Interior Design.  
 
To Associate:
Janet BaumgartnerJanet Baumgartner provides creative and technical support to corporate marketing and information-technology functions. Her responsibilities include the refinement and management of NAC|Architecture’s website and intranet, and creation and management of information databases. Baumgartner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Communication from Eastern Washington University, where she is pursuing graduate studies in Electronic Communication.   KaLee Paul-QuanzKaLee Paul-Quanz, human resources director, is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR®). Paul-Quanz also is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and has held a board position with the Inland Northwest Society for Human Resources Management for three years.   Jason Romine, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP+Jason Romine, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP+, has been an integral team member of the firm’s educational design group for the last eight years. His portfolio includes First Creek Middle School (Tacoma, Washington), Glacier View Junior High School (Puyallup, Washington) and Aberdeen High School (Aberdeen, Washington), recipient of a 2009 American School & University Educational Interiors Showcase Gold Citation. Romine, who is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
  David Shaffer, AIADavid Shaffer, AIA, has worked on multiple projects for Bellevue School District (Washington), including Ardmore Elementary School, Bellevue High School and Eastgate Elementary School, which garnered a 2010 National School Boards Association Exhibition of School Architecture Citation. Shaffer is a graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies and Bachelor of Architecture degree.   Lukas Shu, AIA, LEED APKok-Liang (Lukas) Shu, AIA, LEED AP, is currently working on Snohomish High School, a 268,000-square-foot, four-phase modernization and addition project in Snohomish, Washington. His portfolio also includes the University of Washington’s Hutchinson Hall Drama Design Studio remodel and Ardmore Elementary School (Bellevue, Washington). Shu holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oklahoma.
